Rocky Mountain View is a cosy self-catering cottage located in the remote Scottish Highland hamlet of Camusluinie. Nestled in the stunning Glen Elchaig in Kintail and surrounded by awe-inspiring mountains, you get a lovely view of the whole glen from the front porch.
Located on the Cape Wrath Trail – Shiel Bridge to Strathcarron section – we are an ideal base from which to tour the North West coast, whether for walking, Munro-bagging, bird watching or wildlife spotting. We are also possibly the nearest accommodation to the majestic Falls of Glomach (which is Britain’s highest) but if you want to see this hidden wonder you must be prepared both physically and mentally for a five hour hike, a great challenge!
Do note that we are not on the Isle of Skye, but offer a peaceful alternative away from the main tourist route and you can reconnect with the tourist route in 15 minutes. Far away from local facilities and very remote, but a great place to recharge your batteries. Come here to relax, unwind and get away from it all. Just be fair-warned, we are located 7 miles up a single track road from the A87, and we really mean it when we say you are “getting away from it all” – so pack plenty of provisions for your comfy retreat!
Please also note that there is no mobile phone reception in the glen (although limited wi-fi is available).
